Wami Bridge provides sole link from Chalinze to the Northern parts of Tanzania and neighbouring countries via Chalinze- Segera Road (T002). The existing Bridge, 88.75m long is single lane and its approaches have steep gradients and substandard curves making it unsafe.

Feasibility study, detailed engineering design, ESIA and preparation of tender documents has been completed in 2016 under financing of the Government of Tanzania.

The new Bridge and its approaches have been designed to good geometric standards avoiding the substandard curves and steep gradient for safety enhancement.
